I’m sure you are familiar with the ACRONYM BYOB. For many of us it means a lot of things. The first time you may have seen this acronym might have been an invitation to a kickback or a party your friend was hosting and you may have rolled your eyes at the thought of bringing your on beverage to someone’s party! Read on to find out what my definition of BYOB is.
Dreaming is Not All You Have To Do
My take on this particular acronym is to BE YOUR OWN BOSS. Many of us dream of not working for someone. 90% of American workers don’t own their own business. Too many of us are dreaming and are not making any of them come true. It is time to stop that.
It’s not our fault though. Many of us don’t even think about how to become our own boss because we are programmed to work for someone. I was asked the question “what do you want to be when you grow up” and I think if you are reading this maybe you were too. Many of us probably said, doctor, lawyer, policeman, firefighter or a dragon. That person who said dragon, is probably already a boss. You want to know why, because they were already thinking outside of the box.
Should I Go To College
Many of us follow this already made planned that is taught to us. Go to school, get good grades, go to college, get a job. We are mostly taught to stay in this box. If you are professional looking to go back to school so that you can get a promotion or better job opportunities ask yourself this, is this something I am passionate about first. Once I graduate, will I be stuck in this same endless cycle of job hunting and be worried of job security and all that? When you start asking yourself these questions you will probably start questioning a lot of your decisions. You may even ask yourself, should I go to college. I think college is great for people who know exactly what they want to do and they have a plan to make it happen. I think college sucks for people that wanted to be dragon.
I wanted to be dragon but I lied to myself and my family and went a route that eventually led me to my passion. I”m trying to get you to skip the eventually part. Do you want to invest in your passion? Read on.
